The SN College General Library is a quiet and peaceful environment where books, newspapers, magazines, and digital resources are kept for reading and reference. Open to people of all age groups, it provides knowledge across different subjects, helping students, teachers, and the public improve their reading habits. The library also provides computer and internet facilities for its users.

Vision

To cater to the informational, academic, and research needs of the SN College fraternity, primarily, and the society in general, thus enabling the SN College to achieve excellence in teaching, learning, and research.

Library Highlights
  • Collection: Over 8,500 volumes including textbooks.
  • Computerization: Fully automated using Koha, the world's best open-source Integrated Library Management System (ILMS).
Infrastructure & Sections
General Section

Contains the General stack, Malayalam language and literature, Book Bank collection, and Hindi collection. Reading space accommodates more than 50 students.

PG Section

Contains books for circulation. Books are well stacked and arranged systematically according to the Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC).

Reference Section
  • General: Encyclopedias, Dictionaries, Directories, etc.
  • Text Book: One copy of prescribed syllabus textbooks and costly single-copy books.
Periodicals & Newspapers
  • Journals: Left side of the general stack.
  • Magazines: Right wing. Both arranged alphabetically.
  • Newspapers: Separate reading section with 5 subscriptions.
Circulation Section

Books are issued to members from this section. Members must record their entry in the 'In-Out Management System'.

Rules & Regulations
  • Maintain silence in the library.
  • Return books on or before the due date.
  • Do not damage or write in books.
  • Keep mobile phones on silent mode.
  • No eating or drinking inside the library.
  • Keep the library clean and tidy.
